MEDIEVAL TRIPLE SPIKED-BALL FLAILNobleWares Image of Medieval Triple Spiked Ball Flail PA200611 PA200611
Owing its genesis to the medieval corn-threshing implement, the military flail was a fearsome disabling weapon with its ability to reach out to a distance far exceeding the length of its shaft and with its iron spiked spheres traveling at lethal speeds. Perfect for the re-enactor or even as home decor historical piece, this functional flail features a 17 inch rugged wood shaft wrapped in thick black cord and capped with a cast metal flange accommodating three 13 inch linked chains and 3 1/4 inch spiked cast metal balls. The handle also features a 6" wrist chain. This decorative replica flail measures approx 38 inches when fully extended. (Please Note: although strong materials as steel and wood are used in manufacturing this product, we categorize this item as a "Decorative Replica" as it may or may not not withstand the same level of forceful impacts as the original from which it is modeled.

Medieval Single Ball Spiked Flail PA200609
Medieval weapons varied from simple tools, like arrows, to complex engines of emerging medieval warfare technology, like cannons. The most used weapons were daggers, axes, clubs and spears, while swords were typically only used by knights and their retainers or by men wealthy enough to afford them. Medieval warfare is the warfare of the Middle Ages. In Europe, technological, cultural, and social developments had forced a dramatic transformation in the character of warfare from antiquity, changing military tactics and the role of cavalry and artillery. In terms of fortification, the Middle Ages saw the emergence of the castle in Europe, which then spread to southwestern Asia.
