LIONHEART SWORD SH2367 Paul Chen / CAS Hanwei
The Hanwei single-hand Lionheart Sword designed by Paul Chen is typical of the cruciform-hilt style of the crusading knights of Europe in the 12th and 13th centuries. The wheel pommel and slightly turned-down bow-tie guard make this a very attractive sword indeed! Whether paired with a shield, dagger, or used by its self, this sword is an ideal piece of armament for use where longer ranged weapons are ill suited.
Paul Chen swords are crafted in much the same way as swords were made centuries ago, except now the blades are forged from high-carbon spring steel. The blade finish is far from being polished; again more closely replicating what the medieval swordsmith was able to achieve. This Lionheart Sword will appeal to the re-enactor and collector who wants a sword with the same appearance as the medieval originals.
The large wheel pommel and hand guard are made of solid steel and offer incredible balance for the 27-inch dual edge blade. The pommel is peened and the 6-1/2" handle accomodates a grip covered in black leather with steel fittings. This battle-ready Lionheart Sword measures about 33-1/2 inches overall and includes a beautiful genuine leather wrapped scabbard with steel fittings.
