Measuring 45 inches overall, the Sword of Ibelin features a 36 inch fullered blade, with pommel and crossguard plated in a rich sterling silver. The most unique aspect of this piece, the translucent red cross imbedded in the pommel has been expertly replicated from the movie prop. The ergonomic hardwood grip features both leather and brass wire accents.
The long and wide fuller on this blade lightens the overall sword and make it possible to deliver fast and shearing cuts, capable of cutting through the mail and padding that were worn during the period. The long guard offers good protection from an opponent's shield or blade, while the classic wheel pommel brings the sword very nicely into balance.
