TINKER TRAINER LONGSWORD SH2395 Tinker Pearce / CAS Hanwei This Tinker Pearce Blunt Trainer Longsword (SH2395) features nearly identical handling as its sharp companion (SH2394), but with thick edges (2mm) and a rounded tip for safe sparring practice. Designed by noted sword smith Michael ''Tinker'' Pearce and manufactured by CAS Hanwei, these longswords are made to satisfy the need of every Western Martial Arts practitioner and sword enthusiast, to have a matching set of sharp and blunt swords for cutting and safe training practice.
The swords meet Tinker's exacting quality requirements and are built in much the same way as his custom pieces. Each blade is forged from 5160 Spring Steel, Marquenched to the desired hardness of 50-53 Hrc while the tang is drawn back to the low 30s Hrc. The very end of the tang is threaded to fit an allen nut recessed into the pommel which allows for dismantling of the hilt assembly for inspection or to exchange blades if desired.
The Tinker Longswords (Oakeshott Type XVIIIa) provide the WMA practitioner with a fast, well-balanced pair of swords that will perform beautifully in skilled hands. The flattened scent-stopper pommel (type T-1) forms a natural extension of the double-hand grip and the square section guard (Type 2) provides solid security. The guard and pommel are made of highly polished steel.
The hardwood-cored grip is leather wrapped, with steel fittings. Includes a composite fiberglass scabbard with black leather wrap and steel throat and chape accents. Read more on Blunt Combat Series Swords

The blunt sword is fullered for about two thirds of its length, with a flattened diamond section out towards the tip. Both versions feature identical cruciform hilts that are both attractive and functional.

The very end of the tang is threaded to fit a 5mm allen nut recessed into the pommel which allows for dismantling of the hilt assembly for inspection, to exchange blades if needed, and for anyone wanting to easily customize their grip. Also the Sharp and Blunt blades are interchangeable on all Medieval models. More...
