SWORD OF ISILDUR (UC2598) by United Cutlery Officially licensed reproduction sword from The Lord of the Rings. This is sword of Isildur, who cut the One Ring from Sauron's hand with the broken hilt of his father's sword, Narsil. Isildur chose to keep the One Ring rather than destroy it. This item is meticulously recreated from the movie sword using 420 stainless steel for the blade, which offers a heavy blood groove down its length. The blade is false edged blade and is of rat-tail tang construction. The cast metal handle features leather wrapped grip and pommel bearing the One Tree image in gold relief. Meauring over 47 inches overall with its 36 1/2" blade, Isildur's sword finds its point of balance at approximately 3 13/16 inches from the guard. This is an excellent item for any fan of J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic work!
• Overall Length: 47 3/4"
• Blade Length: 37"

Isildur was (briefly) the second king of Gondor and Arnor. His name means "devoted to the moon". After seven years of besieging the Dark Tower, the enemy was all but defeated and Sauron appeared to challenge the king. During the final battle on the slopes of Mount Doom, Elendil and Gil-galad were both slain in combat with the Dark Lord, but Sauron's mortal form was slain as well. Isildur took the hilt-shard of his father's sword Narsil, which had broken beneath Elendil when he fell, and cut the One Ring from Sauron's hand; causing Sauron's malignant spirit to flee.
