During the American Civil War, swords were still the most widely used edged weapon on the battlefields. There were a variety of models issued to the troops, and this one was the model issued to experienced Cavalry men on both the Union and Confederate sides. This Civil War / Cavalry sword features a wood grip with inset brass braid, 3-bar swept brass handle, 34" curved carbon steel blade and polished steel scabbard. The Sword measures at an overall length of 42".
