AXE OF RAGNAR LOTHBROK- Standard Edition SH8000 Shadow Cutlery
The weapon favored by Ragnar Lothbrok, this axe was essential in Ragnars rise from farmer to Earl, and from Earl to King. Guided by Oden and believing that his path was destined for greatness, Ragnar and his warriors raid and plunder across England and beyond. This axe was used in all his raids, and was the key to his victory over Earl Haraldson's in the epic season one battle. Ragnar's favored axe is rarely far from his side. The Axe of Ragnar Lothbrok has been created from the actual television prop used in the popular television series; an original Canadian-Irish series broadcast by the Canadian television channel, History, created and written by Michael Hirst. The axe has been weathered to look from the time period.

Officially Licensed Axe of Ragnar Lothbrok Standard Edition SH8000 by Shadow Cutlery

This licensed Axe of Ragnar Lothbrok crafted by Shadow Cutlery has been recreated from the actual television prop. It has an axe head of 2Cr13 cast stainless steel fitted onto a haft of ash wood. Both have been bound with real leather for a sure grip. The axe and its components have been given an antiqued and distressed finish to give it a aged and battle-worn appearance of a warrior's weapon that has seen dozens of combats. The axe comes with a wooden display plaque that carries a Viking motif design in blood red and Logo of the television series title. The wood plaque allows the axe to be mounted and displayed vertically - mounting hardware is included. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

The one handed axe used by the Vikings was a swift and durable weapon that consistently struck with lethal force. It is not surprising that a tool that could bite into the tough bark-skin of trees could be modified for war to make a mockery of frail flesh. Most Vikings could not afford to use an expensive sword, so for many the axe and the spear were their trusted battle-companion. The hard-hitting axe was a sure pick for the Viking Sea-Reaver and it is fitting that Ragnar Lothbrok made good use of the Viking Axe on his ascendance from ambitious farmer to greatness.
