PIRATE DAGGER NICKEL(SD4190NQ)by DENIX This 16th Century cup hilt dagger has a 'S' shaped hand guard and is engraved with pirate-themed skull & crossbones with crossed sabers. The dagger features a 12 inch zinc metal alloy safe blade and measures 17 inches overall. The brass finished handle and pommel add an exciting contrast to the nickel finished cup and hand guard. Comes with a brown leather scabbard with matching crossed swords cast in nickel finished metal fittings.
Often a ships captain would have a pistol
sword or dagger commissioned for him as a sign of his
superiority. A gunsmith would decorate the stock with
silver and gold or ornate carvings. The doghead would
be carved in some ornate fashion or perhaps be shaped
like a lion, unicorn or some animal from the royal crest
of the owner. In many ways such weapons in the 18th century
would hold the same place of honor as a luxury car or
expensive watch might today.
The blades of Denix daggers and swords are cast from a metal alloy and cannot be sharpened, making them safe for display in family environments.
