The daisho allows the fighter to have a longer or more widespread fighting range when multiple weapons are employed. The daishō (大小?), literally "long short", is a Japanese term referring to the traditional set of edged weapons of the samurai. The katana/wakizashi pairing is not the only daisho combination; generally, any longer sword paired with a shorter sword and knife is considered a daisho. The daishō were limited exclusively to the samurai class and were a symbols of their rank and standing. The Dragon Head Tanto by Marto of Toledo Spain features a black lacquered texture baked aluminum scabbard (saya) and stamped with a gold Marto designed insignia. The traditionally wrapped cotton cord hilt is the same as its big brothers the 220 Katana and 230 Wakizashi. The hilt features the black iron tsuba and pommel (kashira).
